Storm on Southwest Plains I

Photograph taken on June 2, 2007, in northwest New Mexico, near the Texas border. This storm was a mesocyclone / supercell, and produced several large tornadoes at about the same time I took this photograph. Rain was between me and the tornadoes, so I didn't see them.

The shadow areas of the image were dropped in level to create the high contrast appearance. Because of the angle of the lighting, the shadow areas in the clouds and foreground had little visible contrast to begin with, so I liked the darker, intense look.
